Switchable glass is becoming increasingly popular with businesses looking to modernise their office space, as it not only elevates a room’s aesthetic but also increases the room’s functionality. Hufcor played a big role in this project by installing this switchable, movable partition as well as capturing the images below. The result was a multi-use meeting area within an open-plan design office space.

Each panel of this movable partition is made of Switchable Privacy Glass, which offers its own type of multifunctionality in its ability to switch from transparent to opaque in less than 0.1 seconds. Using safe, low-level electrical currents, Privacy Smart Glass can transform a window to a wall at a moment’s notice with the flick of a switch or press of a button. Some customers even choose to connect these panels up to a smart home or office system, allowing for quick and easy transitions no matter where you are.

The panels, while totally opaque, do allow light to penetrate so just because the space is private doesn’t necessarily mean that it feels enclosed. The switchable glass panels for this project were fairly standard in order to keep with the simple aesthetic, however, Privacy Glass can come in all shapes and sizes in order to meet the end user’s needs. This project was particularly challenging, as it was essential that the panels could be used separately or together, depending on the configuration of the partition.
