“NOT just one of the best in the country – but possibly the world” is how Dave McNicholas, Unit Manager, describes the new state of the art ICCU at Sunderland Royal Hospital which opened April 11th.
The unit is part of a new £28m ward block at the hospital and is seen as a model of excellence within the NHS as it includes hi-tech technology, incorporating the most advanced electronic patient monitoring systems available.

SmartGlass International supplied LC SmartGlass to a viewing gallery overlooking the 25 metre Grafton Pool at Kentish Town Sports Centre. A total of eleven LC SmartGlass panels make up the glass partition screen separating the pool and viewing area.
LC SmartGlass was specified for this project to deliver privacy on demand for swimming sessions where the occupants did not wish to be viewed; this is particularly pertinent within Muslim communities where a level of discretion is required.
LC SmartGlass works as a rear projection screen when switched to its “off” state allowing video and imagery to be projected onto the SmartGlass partition screen.

Impact testing being performed on LC SmartGlass by SmartGlass International Ltd. The SmartGlass passed without any failures and can now be classified as a class A safety glass.
